While the new writer wouldn't divulge details about this new film, he did stress that the film, "is not a prequel."
"It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don't want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements."
Original Underworld director Len Wiseman is still on board as a producer, but the film does not have a director attached as of yet. Kate Beckinsale, who starred in Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, does not have a deal in place to return. The prequel film Underworld 3: The Rise of The Lycans's star Rhona Mitra has not cut a deal to return as well.

I can not wait for this movie. It should carry on in a different direction, there is many a stryline they could use considering all the things done in Rise of the Lycans. Oh yes Kate should come back in one way or another as Selene.

Didn't at the end of UW2 she said that they will be hunted. Could the movie be years later with Selene and Michael having a kid and on the run. Maybe this movie will show when Amelia became a vampire.

without Kate it wont work so hopefully we will see her back in action and with Lucian i don't see why they cant bring him back if anyone remembers the first film right after he took blood from Micheal he injected himself with it. maybe it boosted his immune system so he could survive that blast plus we saw his big as bodyguard find him, makes sense in a way he was off being nursed back to health.
