@mattbierwagen - Yeah i would figure. Dubstep and John Carter don't really seem to mix that will. Giacchino is awesome!

@moviemaniac66 you dont have to worry about the dubstep because there will be none of it in the actual movie! Giacchino will rock!

Man, I still don't know about this movie. Part of me wants to see it, but the other part is still completely confident that it'll suck.

And the dubstep in the trailer did nothing to help.

@thedude1 Yeah, it does have that going against it. I'd still like to see it make something over its budget.

I still think this will fail... but I'm beginning to be more hopeful based on advance buzz.

I'm gonna see this movie cos it looks pretty good.

That being said, I don't know if audiences will accept another "Dances With Wolves/Pocahontas/Avatar" story. I loved Avatar, but I think that's gonna be the last movie to get away with it before audiences simply don't go see it...

And I know John Carter was written way back in the day before Avatar, but I'm just saying...

@yannick-decorte Good points. Just to add to that the biggest opening in March was Alice in Wonderland with 116 million dollars and went on to make 334 million domestically. We know that won't be happening. Number two in opening weekends is 300 with 70 million and that went on to make 210 million. For this movie to even see profit it is going to have to make close to 300 million dollars just domestically.

@renodc Have you seen the latest TV Ads? They are filled with nothing but praise from a bunch of critics.

This trailer is an obvious sign of desperation: they include all the action and dazzling special effects to let people know this is a big movie, and skimp entirely on the story and character relatability. I think it's going to be a very good film, but it's not going to do well. And why release it in March? What are they hoping for with a March release for a $250 million-film? It's nearly impossible for this movie to make back its budget. I predict $140 million box-office in the US, and that would still be doing very well, considering everything. Prince of Persia only did $90 million at the end of May with Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead...

The fact that they used freaking dubstep is just a piss off. The movie looks entertaining but i agree with @thedude1. This movie is going to tank.

@ROFLitschristian What hurts it is the 250 million dollar budget. That is way too high for a March movie.

Looks really good, but unfortunately I hear absolutely nobody talking about it. I'm afraid John Carter is going to be another casuality of movie goer apathy.
