Joey King confirms playing Talia al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises
12-year-old actress Joey King has confirmed she is playing young Talia al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. We reported in May that Joey King joined the cast, but it was unclear which role she is playing. Here's what she had to say in a recent interview below.

"I play young Talia al Ghul. I can't give too much away because I promised Mr. Christopher Nolan I wouldn't say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie."


We reported in December that actress Leilah De Meza was offered the young Talia al Ghul role, but her mother turned it down since Christopher Nolan wanted Leilah De Meza to go bald for the part.

There is still speculation that Marion Cotillard will become the adult Talia al Ghul, even after it was confirmed that she is playing Wayne Enterprises executive Miranda Tate.

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

    Yeah, she's not really spoiling anything given the amount of speculation around this. I'm just glad that somebody confirmed it. I don't think anyone is surprised. The only thing that would really surprise me now is if someone dropped the bomb that Hugo Strange is secretly in the film. But given that we're seeing flashbacks of Ra's and Talia, it seems like she'll be playing a pretty significant role in the story.

    @Jan-Stevens: So imdb, wiki, etc have been reporting the opposite. Either way, if Modine can't even dish out the basics on Nixon, then there's no damn way with all the denials for months on end that you get permission to spill the beans. Plus, she says that "I promised Chris I wouldn't say anything." So yeah, the label still stands. If you're instructed not to say anything, then you don't say anything.

    Honestly, this was one of the worst kept secret in movie history. We all knew Talia was going to appear; the reappearance of Ras virtually assured that. Nolan probably told her to say this to remove that speculation from the rumor mill.

    @ROFLitschristian There is a difference between a parent that ruins their child's childhood by making them take part in those circuses called beauty pageants during their young years, and having your child involved in a single movie that requires their head shaved, and with a payout that probably trumps any pageant winnings.
