Joel Kastelberg and Etchie Stroh Will Produce The Howling: Reborn

Variety reports that The Howling franchise is going to be relaunched by producers Joel Kastelberg and Moonstone Entertainment's Etchie Stroh.

The title for this new project will be The Howling: Reborn. Directing and writing will be Joe Nimzik. The film will begin shooting this February for a release during Halloween.

Presently, there are no plot details for this project.

Joe Dante directed the original Howling in 1981. Six sequels followed. The plot of the first film saw Dee Wallace-Stone as a news anchor that gets stalked by a serial killer who is actually a werewolf.

The Howling was released April 10th, 1981 and stars Dee Wallace, Patrick Macnee, Dennis Dugan, Christopher Stone, Belinda Balaski, Kevin McCarthy, John Carradine, Slim Pickens. The film is directed by Joe Dante.

    If you ever do watch it, you'll wish you never did. The first two were the better ones, and there's other that scared the pants off me. I think it was either 4 or 5, werewolves running around tearing humans apart as they try to survive.

    it's "new moon rising" and they don't have it in stock.
    i found out a couple weeks ago that Scanners (one of my all-time favorites) has two sequels and netflix doesn't even have those listed.
    makes me mad, i like crappy sequels to memorable movies.
    crappy sequels like chud 2: bud the chud, which (you guessed it) netflix doesn't carry.

    Why don't they just do a remake? They're doing it with everything else in Hollywood so why not this, the original film is not bad unfortunately it came out in cinemas about the same time as American Werewolf in London.
