Joby Harold to Adapt Atlantis Rising

It seems that a mythical underwater city film adaptation is coming together. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joby Harold has signed on to pen the adaptation of Atlantis Rising for DreamWorks.

Len Wiseman is directing the film, based off Scott Mitchell Rosenberg's five-part comic series. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are producing the film with Rosenberg.

"As a writer, Joby has an amazingly strong understanding of how to take genre seriously, which is prerequisite No. 1 for us when it comes to these kinds of movies," said Kurtzman.

The comic series revolves around the underwater civilization that is discovered after seismic rumblings occur, which sparks a battle with those above sea level.

DreamWorks is eyeing the film as a summer 2011 tentpole affair at this time.

Atlantis Rising comes to theaters in 2014.

I agree with Agent Vis, I mean Len and the story is very cool. Hopefully Mr. Harold will do alot better this time. But I want to know who's producing and who's acting.

  7. Lock and Stock

Alex kurtzman and Roberto orci are sh*t, they always write scripts for movies which are hated by fans and critics I'll give star trek.

Well, I wasn't familiar with him, so I IMBDed his ass, and says he's only wrote one movie, and it was "Awake"(which he also directed). I heard that movie was atrocious. It also says he's attached to write "Army of the Dead" which just sounds like a cheep knock off of J. Michael Strazynski's "World War Z." Hopefully this is good, because it's got a lot going for it with the story and director...not so much writer
