Joaquin Phoenix is the new Hulk?
Sources say that Marvel has already put out an offer, and Joaquin Phoenix is taking time to mull over the offer and the bigger implications: the resurrection of the Hulk franchise, and Comic-Con.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

I liked Eric Bana from the first film over Norton really but I'd go with Norton over Phoenix. Well I guess it depends on which Joaquin shows up for work to.

If for some reason Norton can't come back I wouldn't mind seeing Phoenix playing the part. He is a good actor. Hell, he might even surprise us. Didn't know Whedon was directing. I'm a big fan of his.

I personally think all the rights should be returned to Marvel. Fox has screwed up, Disney should be dropped.
Nothing seems right about Marvel lately and I'm getting discouraged about the new films that will be coming out. There was nothing wrong with Spiderman until the third film came out, I may not like the idea of rebooting it but I'll watch it when it comes out. So far there's nothing wrong with Iron-man.
The first Hulk was okay and good, Incredible Hulk was slightly better and now that's being screwed with.
I would rather see X-Men 4, Spiderman 4, FF3 and they need to get in the right actors for the characters. Wolverine done right, that needs to be a R rated film series.
Superheroes to replace Harry Potter, hell no.
Marvel needs to realize that they need to keep things going forward and not play around with their comic films.

Not for nothing, I know some of you guys are gonna dis agree but he kinda looks the part... BUT I want Edward Norton to come back cuz he did a really good job as Hulk and I dont know why they took him out it was a dumb choice.. They should of let Jon Favreau direct the movie.

@Blitz_21 really? You think Joss Whedon was a strike AGAINST the film? Joss Whedon as a director, script and comic book writer is a genius. His script for the first X-men film would have made it an absolutely awesome film and dead on when it came to continuity with the comics, but due to Fox's lack of care for the fans they only took three parts from the script and tore up the rest. Joss Whedon is one of the best Directors/Writers of our time and him working with Ed Norton and all the other guys (except Chris Evans still not happy about that) would make this film one of the greatest adaption's ever made, and one of the top films of 2012 (if i have the right release date)
But i digress. Who the f*ck is this guy and why is he not Edward Norton?
This is the first actual really bad decision marvel has made when it has coming to film production, except for selling the rights to all their comics to Fox which technically isn't their fault. Edward Norton is the best Bruce Banner, he played the awkward scientist so incredibly well, and what he put into Incredible Hulk made it one of my favorite films, that and the bad ass Hulk, why marvel? Why make your fans sad?

I signed the petition roughly ten minutes ago. Continuity is important to me, and it should be to Marvel. As for Norton's attitude, he's not the first great actor to be difficult. Marvel needs to let go of their pride, and let the role go to the man it rightly belongs to- EDWARD NORTON.

I don't even know where to begin. Okay, first things first, Norton is a better Banner than Bana(say that three times real fast). Joaquin Phoenix as Banner/Hulk? Uh, no. I don't believe that for one second. Marvel would have to be crazy to give this role to a flake like Joaquin Phoenix, instead of to a man like Norton, who just wanted the portrayal to be dead-on.
