Abrams revaled that the trailer is not linked to Cloverfield
"You have to check [out the trailer]," he told us. "But it has nothing whatsoever to do with Cloverfield, despite your expert reporting."
When asked the nature of the new trailer, Abrams cryptically replied, "I won't be able to tell you until it's done."
All we do know for now is that the trailer will indeed roll out in front of Iron Man 2 this weekend, but we'll be sure to keep you posted with any further news on this J.J. Abrams project as soon as more information becomes available.

It's about Area 51 and aliens or some such creatures, which is always cool in my books. I was especially thrilled to see that Abrams is actually directing, not just producing this. One thing that I find interesting is that this film will be filmed in Super 8, amateur film style (sort of similar to Cloverfield), yet it will be following a few months after Oren Peli's found-footage followup to Paranormal Activity, titled Area 51. We're going to see two very conceptually similar films follow quickly after one another, though from the trailer it looks like Abrams' film will be set outside Area 51 whereas Peli's will be set inside the complex.

Regarding Jurassic Park 4 the director(Joe Johnston) said:
"Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it's going to be unlike anything you've seen. It breaks away from the first three-it's essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It's going to be done in a completely different way. That's pretty much all I can tell you."
Imagine JP4 in Super 8! Maybe??? It would make JJ a producer along with SS and not the director. Interesting! Until tomorrow....

Definitely looking forward to this! I dont care how much....or little we know about this film, I feel fully confident that Abrams will do great things with a film that has a synopsis like that! He's a freakin genius!

@Oli Yeah I read the same thing and it seems possible that it is that. I read alot of other accounts that believe it to be the same thing.
Ya i just need to see it for myself before i make any decisions. People are smarter now. When Cloverfield came out people were all like, "ITS GODZILLA! Its got to be! see this puff of smoke here and this shadow here and this persons tattoo on their ass, they all point to Godzilla."
