J.J. Abrams' New Project Will Hit the Richter Scale

J.J. Abrams is set to movie the earth beneath our feet for his next project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Abrams is teaming up with David Seltzer, the screenwriter of the original The Omen, for an untitled disaster film about earthquakes.

What it won't be, however, is a remake of the 1974 disaster flick dubbed simply, Earthquake, and that the film will revolve around relationships affected by the disaster. The rest of the plot is being kept under tight wraps, which is par for the course with Abrams.

At this time, it is believed that Abrams will only produce this film, with no director attached or production schedule announced.

Bitches, a voltron movie is being put together as we speak. Justin Marks, writer of the new street fighter, and upcoming movies such as the masters of the universe and a prison flick starring green arrow(can't remember the name), is penning the script. No news besides that, though

Ok, I know this is not a "Re-Make' of the "ORGINIAL" "Earthquake" but what would be cool is if Abrams would film this in the very Retro: "Sensurround", just like the orginial film!

(the Sensurround vibrations actually caused an occasional, very small and harmless piece of plaster or paint to crack and fall down onto the audience)

This already sounds like it sucks. But, I haven't seen anyhting else about it yet... Sometimes, I just want to see crazy sh*t go down. This sounds like Abrams is saying
"We're doing a movie about earthquakes."
    [crowd stands up to exit]
    "Wait!"
    [crowd pauses, looks at Abrams]
"It will focus on the relationships with people rather than the mediocre crazy sh*t you've sen a hundred times before happening around them."
[SIlence spreads over the crowd as they look at one another, then they haul ass out of there to get away from this proposed crapfest]

I hope it isn't going to be filmed like Cloverfield... I can only take about one of those types of movies once every ten years. Oh and Artkid, Cloverfield was classified as a disaster film before it came out. And there were tons of misleading rumors about it before it came out...One of them being a rumor that Cloverfild was a disaster/earthquake film set in NYC. With JJ you will never know. So anyone could be right here in assuming anything.

If it wasn't j.j. abrams, i'd be saying "ANOTHER" disaster flick, but it is, so i'm not. BUT, he's only producing, so i might find myself saying that as more news comes about.

I'm still waiting on eli roth's pg-13 "disaster" flick. Will it be aliens? A giant monster? Or a natural disaster? hmmm...
