Well I think the first will always the the best in this series, however, the 2nd sucked. The third was really cool, and I hope the 4th is a bit slower/serious or something. But yeah, can't wait.

I'm with you on that illuminati, kill the wife.

yu got a point there, illuminati, wife has to die a very sh*t-dropping death. MI3 was good but it was the worst in the franchise.
This scientologist f*ck better give us something better or the franchise will end on an embarrassing note.

  4. Illuminati

MI1- The best of the franchise, a good film. European espionage, cloak & dagger mind games, Double crossing. Phelps being the bad guy was brilliant! F*CK the tv show, that's why this was called a movie, and it WORKED! De Palma did it well.

MI2- too many pigeons, slo-mos and face-offs! Typical John Woo. it was fun, stylish, but way too cheesy. A regrettable film

MI3- too face paced and action packed to be a spy film. Having wife with NO CHEMISTRY was fatal lag in the film. Should have been about a revenge/escape story about the KERRI RUSSEL character. Under usage of HOFFMAN (a cool villian). The exposure of the 'secret' department to the wife and the uber-cheesy ending was pathetic. A weak story, great action, fun but forgettable film.

MI4- they should start by killing the wife(something MI3 needed). This will bring a much needed serious tone(i love revenge films), a salvage of the 'care-bear' ending of MI3.

    The third one did suck.

What are you talking about Editboy? The second one had a good story, and the action didn't come until the end of the movie which made it all worth while.

  9. ALor2

ya MI3 was crap bc they made it more of a romantic story with ethan and his wife then focusing on the action and the misson of the story. they better redeem themselves with this one.

i honestly thought MI2 was the best, the way is what shot was just brilliant John Woo knows what he is doing with an action flick.

I'll watch it. MI3 fits into the superspy genre, not the spy genre. There's a gaping difference.

  15. Newkill3000

I agree editboy, MI3 was terrible. What made that movie so bad was that they gave Ethan Hunt a wife and a real life. I don't want to see him like that. I just couldn't take that character seriously anymore.

Editboy, Abrams is producing the movie, not directing it, yet. I think he'll be too busy with direction Star Trek XII (2).

HA-HA!!! The third one was the worst of the series!...

SOOOO....let's bring back the director of the worst one and DO IT AGAIN! GOOD JOB!

The first "M:I" messed with the original a little too much, the John Woo version was overly action oriented with very little connection to what the show was all about, and the third one...I think I've forgotten the third movie because it was.......just so forgettable!

Hey, I know! REBOOT, REBOOT, REBOOT! Hit the REBOOT button! LOL! Shouldn't we be doing that with every movie now?!

  18. Rufio

#3 was better story-telling. #2 had the coolest action (and worst hair - what was Tom thinking?!?). #1 had the best story and approach (just too confusing, long/drawn-out). Now if they can combine these elements then #4 is gonna be the best yet.

  19. gandoff2169

I loved the first three. I felt the the second two made MI more action driven then the first cousing a rift of what the first built. MI one was some action, but more suspense driven like the sence in the vault. But two and three was action, action, action. They was great, but a 4th MI has to continue a action driven theme to make a huge deal. But you know what they say, to much action and not enough story can couse tom to be a dull boy. To much story and not enough action can couse tom to be a flop boy. ie Vinilia Sky.

Well, as long as he's just producing I'm cool with that, because Abrams sucks as a director. And no, I did not think Star Trek was directed well. It was like he took his direction skills from when he was doing the sh*tty Mi3 and put it into Star Trek. F*ck Abrams.

they should mad MI4 like the first one.. more about the story and the twist thant the effects/action... dont get me wrong i love all 3... but the first one is more MI stype than the rest... hope they would do a better story

Yes it would be good for them to work on something original. BUT, I liked M:I:III more than one or two so hell, why not. If they've got the time and Paramount has the money go for it!
