Jim Carrey has signed on to star in and produce the comedy, Me Time for 20th Century Fox.

Fox picked up the spec script from writing duo Ian Roberts and Jay Martel; the story revolves around a writer penning a book about his great-great-grandmother, a frontier woman, reports Variety. When his pregnant wife has to go on bed rest, leaving him to care for the house and their other child, his confidence is shaken as he reads his ancestor's diary, in which she describes raising a family, plowing the fields and taming the wild environs.

No production schedule has been set for Me Time.
