According to CBBC Newsround, actress Jessie Cave has been cast as Lavender Brown in the next Potter film. Lavender Brown becomes Ron Weasley's first girlfriend in the sixth Potter book, and the pair get on everyone's nerves because they can't stop kissing!

She was chosen from among thousands of other girls who were vying for the role.

Jessie is 20 years old and will be seen next in the U.K. television drama Summerhill early next year.

It's not known if Jessie attended the open auditions earlier this year for Lavender.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince arrives in theatres on November 21st, 2008.
