Jerry O'Connell joins Rex Is Not Your Lawyer
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jerry O'Connell will co-star in NBC's pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. He is replacing Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes) who was recently cast in the role. Scheduling issues with the two shows made him jettison the new role.

Also cast in the pilot are Lindsay Kraft and Cleo King. It is going to be directed by David Semel. Rex Is Not Your Lawyer stars David Tennant as Rex Alexander, he is a top Chicago litigator who starts to suffer panic attacks and then takes up coaching clients to represent themselves.

O'Connell is going to play "an ambitious but good-natured lawyer who was in Rex's shadow until Rex's career switch and whose friendship with Rex becomes complicated when he falls in love with his pal's fiancee (Abigail Spencer)."

O'Connell was cast in the show last friday.

Kraft will play a former waitress who is working as Rex's assistant. King will be a no-nonsense private-school bus driver that is aided by Rex in her wrongful-termination case.

well, why didn't he just quit Heroes and do this show? Heroes is a sinking ship and he was dumb not to get off of that boat, unless he's still under contract.

I've been following his career not really impressed with some of his choices, since Sliders he's been in Jerry Magure with Tom Cruise and has done three or four tv comedies which were horrible. He's done Crossing Jordon of which I liked, he played a cop. To top it off he's made some horrible films, Joe's Apartment which I enjoyed but he looks as if doesn't care about his film and tv career.
I was disapointed when he left Sliders, did not like his replacement.

I haven't seen Jerry O'Connell do anything since "Sliders", and that was what? A decade ago?

Horrible replacement. But I am still excited because of Tennant and Tambor

  6. Batman Rules !!!

I was psyched to see this with Sendhil, but now I won't watch. Tennant, Curtain, and Tambor with adorable Ramamurthy was drool worthy. Do they want the show to fail?
