Jeremy Renner to Star as Hawkeye in Thor?

Empire is reporting that The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner might appear at the end of Thor as Hawkeye.

"Hawkeye could be interesting," he told them. "They're going to send me some stuff on it, see what it is, but I think they're pretty awesome, trying to make superhero movies almost plausible and not just some fantasy thing."

It seems that Hawkeye might appear at the end of Thor, similar to Samuel L. Jackson's appearance at the end of Iron Man. It seems that appearance could pave the way for Hawkman to appear in The Avengers as well.

Thor was released May 6th, 2011 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Kat Dennings, Clark Gregg, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Lol. Its a pretty cool/sorta trippy comic... just look it up and rent it from the library sometime if you don't wanna buy it. :) It's worth the read.

I actually have to thank Aficionado for telling me about it and after my interests we're peaked I got into it. Apocalypse Suite was a great intro, and although the story arc in the Dallas story revolved around Number 5 it was still awesome. Can't wait for more.

and The BD, I did not know that Holloway was approached for Gambit. That would have actually been unappealing to me. But if anything he should play Hawkeye, or maybe even Goliath. And again, does anyone else think Patrick Wilson is perfect for Hank Pym?

The Fallen and Aficionado, Umbrella Academy is awesome. Thank you for agreeing.

since we're talking about holloway anyone notice that in the last arc of Invincible Ironman, Stark was based off of Holloway in the same way that Osborn is based off of Tommy Lee Jones?

Oooooohhhh man...I see Umbrella Academy conversation lol One of my favorite comics.

He could work on his accent for the role, he's got strong features.

Holloway was offered Gambit in X3 but he turned it down cuz he didn't want to get typed cast as a "southern ass" and so they didn't even include the character.

  8. The Narrator: The Better Man

Cripple, its funny. I said the same thing while back.

And yeah Chad, I read cap and Holloway doesn't have the Cap feel, but he is the sh*t. That he is. And with his criminal like character in "LOST" and his ability to woo women, he is a perfect Clint Barton.

  9. Cripple

Chad, I would pick Holloway to play The Kraken in the Umbrella Academy movie, if it gets made.

  10. Jokers_Wild_X

I'm not saying he will be, I'm saying that the role he would work for as a villain would fit that. Actually, I'm changing mine, a Blonde Christian Bale + his performance in American Psycho = Roderick Kingsly, A.K.A the Hobgoblin, a young rich playboy who's sanity slowly begins slipping after coming into contact with the Goblin Gas.

  11. Chad Vital

Yeah BD, I mentioned it in one of my posts saying "hawkman?" lol.

Josh Holloway is the sh*t, and I'm surprised he hasn't been offered any superhero roles actually. I could see him as Captain America actually, he's a pretty big guy and looks naturally buff, so all he would have to do is work out some more (if he doesn't already) and he's good to go lol.

  12. Brainiac

obviously Bale couldn't be Hush cuz he is batman, but if he wasn't Batman i guess he would work for that role. and i disagree bout norman osborn, aside from the fact that Willem Dafoe already portayed him, i think of Tommy Lee jones now cuz of reading Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers.

without reading any other comments i know that i am not the first to say this, but wtf "Hawkman" after they even called him Hawkeye they still f*cked up.

anyway i like him for this part so that is sweet, i was worried Hawkeye might not appear in any of these movies, so this is good news.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Bale would make 2 great villains. Thinking of his role from American Psycho, in Marvel I think that Bale would make an amazing Norman Osborn.
But in the DC universe, Bale would make an amazing Hush, because it's a similar role to that of Osborn.

Also, on Todd's words, Jeremy Renner seems to rugged to actually be the Cap, his rough looks fit more with Hawkeye.
I saw a picture on another site, with Renner and Hawkeye's headshots side by side, and I thought it was pretty convincing. Just look at the article on Worstpreviews.com, that's where the picture was.

I don't think Aaron Eckhart is the right build for the cap, now don't get me wrong, I believe he could have the body if he trained, but Eckhart never seemed the broad shouldered, pinnacle of manliness type to me. Sam Worthington with blonde hair, now that screams out CAPTAIN AMERICA to me.

  15. The Narrator: The Better Man

Lol. It was me Chad. And this would be cool to see Hawkeye, but he better fits in with Cap. He was after all trained by Cap. Anyways, I as great an actor as Jeremy Renner is, Josh Holloway (with short hair please) fits the role perfectly. Oh well, at least Hawkeye is getting attention.

I agree Todd. Bale would make a bad-ass villain.

Chris Bale as a villain. He just needs to play a villain for once or twice.

    Sam Worthington
    Aaron Eckhart
    Jeremy Renner

Yeah they are really pushing Thor. Probably for the best too since he is not as popular as other Marvel charcters that are well known. Well known to us but like for example, my mom wouldn't have any clue who Thor is lol.

I think that Jeremy Renner would make a good Hawkeye, and as for the Cap my vote is still on Sam Worthington, even if he's not American, he still has that perfect soldier boy look.

  24. IamBATMAN

he looks enough like captain america to play him in a movie... and from watching 28 weeks later it seems to me he has the knack for playing a leader and taking charge of situations

  25. T.Clark

He's doesn't have the All-American "good looks" Captain America should have. He has a very gritty appearance to him that suits Hawkeye.

no no no... i still think he should be captain america
