Jeremy Renner to play Hawkeye in The Avengers?
The initial rumor was that Renner might appear as a cameo in Thor and reprise his role in The Avengers. At the time, Renner was considering roles in both Battleship and an untitled Paul Thomas Anderson film. It was said that Renner never signed on to Battleship and the Anderson project has been stalled by financing.
Now it was said that if Renner signs on to The Avengers, he could still appear in the Anderson film if the film starts up again.
Marvel didn't officially confirm the story as of yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted on this new story as soon as we have more information.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

I like Renner but I'm not much of a Hawkeye fan either. He would certainly be a solid addition to the film though.

Interesting...I didn't know Batman's suit was purple and capeless...hmm.
Just because he has pointy things coming from his mask makes him a Batman look-a-like? Besides, he'll most likely just wear a leather suit with shades, similar to this:

This keeps getting better. I hope they can somehow work him into the Thor movie, at least for a cameo at the end. A small introduction before the Avengers movie wouldn't hurt his character.

Cool. He's a better pic than most of the other guys out there, and this ensures that the character will be in the Avengers film(s) somewhere. I just wish Josh Holloway (now that Lost is done) would play Clint. As I say on every Hawkeye post, Holloway is perfect for Barton.
Still, this is a good choice.
