Jeremy Renner Eyeing Mad Max Reboot?

It seems that one of this year's more critically-acclaimed actors might be set for an apocalyptic remake. Ain't It Cool News pointed us to a Modesto Bee story where actor Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) said he was vying for the lead in a remake of Mad Max.

I'm also fighting to do the new Mad Max film with George Miller. That might be next summer. I'm screen-testing and meeting George Miller.


We'll certainly keep you posted on any and all updates regarding a new Mad Max film and Renner's involvement with it.

    I can do without Mel Gibson and Im glad to hear that its not going to be an animated movie. I think Reener is a very good choice and Im glad to know that George Miller is still attached.

    haha i read it and everytime i read Mad Max i thought, "Max Pain" (or is it Pane) in my head and just kept thinkin it is way too early to redo MP. anyway Jeremy Renner rocks, so this would be cool

    As long as they leave The Road Warrior alone I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of Mad Max, as well as the last one that had Tina Turner in it. If Hollywood is going to continue remaking these movies they should only do the ones that sucked.

    It's not like Mad Max was the greatest thing alive but it definitely has a cool idea behind it. I'd like to see another updated R version for sure. They will either make it really f*cking cool or it will be really f*cking corny lol.
