Jennifer Lopez set for Overboard remake
Jennifer Lopez is in negotiations to star in a remake of Overboard, the 1987 romantic comedy that starred Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Overbrook is producing the comedy for Columbia.

The story centers on a snooty, spoiled woman who falls off her yacht and is taken to the hospital by a local, morally challenged carpenter. When she wakes up with amnesia, he convinces her she is his wife, thereby getting a free housekeeper for his four boys.

Adam Cooper and Bill Collage worked on the current script, as did Leslie Dixon.

Will Smith is producing with Overbrook partner James Lassiter.

No production date has been set.

    Piss all over Hollywood.

One good that I see that comes from remakes is that sometimes some people have never heard of the original. In return that may cause the person to wanna watch the original. Those people would have never known or wouldn't have gotten the chance to watch the original if a remake wasn't made.

Having said that, I hate most remakes cause Hollywood tries to take the easy way out and not think of something original.
