Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifah Team Up for The Secret Life of Bees

For the first time ever, Jennifer Hudson is going to team up with her on-screen soul mate Queen Latifah in an adaptation of Sue Monk Kidd's popular novel The Secret Lives of Bees. According to Variety, Sophie Okenedo has also jumped aboard this drama from Gina Prince.

The film will revolve around a young runaway (Dakota Fanning) that is taken in by an eccentric group of beekeeping sisters. She soon discovers the secret of her dead mother's past and is sought out by her troubled father. Latifah, Okenedo, and Hudson will play the three sisters.

Shooting begins January 9th in North Carolina.

The Wild Blue Yonder was released November 18th, 2005 and stars Brad Dourif, Capt. Donald Williams, Dr. Ellen Baker, Franklin Chang-Diaz, Shannon Lucid, Michael McCulley, Roger Diehl, Ted Sweetser. The film is directed by Werner Herzog.
