Jennifer Connelly joins Darren Aronofsky's Noah
Paramount is also showing interest in Saoirse Ronan for a supporting role, although no details were given regarding her character. It isn't clear if an offer has been made to the actress yet. Jennifer Connelly will play Naameh, the wife of Russell Crowe's title character.
Darren Aronofsky will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ari Handel. It is said this drama will be an edgier version of the Biblical tale, which will highlight Noah's love of alcohol and wine.
Production is scheduled to begin in June.
Noah comes to theaters March 28th, 2014 and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Durand. The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky.
