Jennifer Aniston to Produce DreamWorks' Goree Girls Musical
The project is based on a true story about a group of eight women serving time in Texas' Goree Prison during the 1940s who formed one of the first all-female country and western acts in the country and captured the hearts of millions of fans in the process.
Aniston and her producing partner Kristin Hahn optioned Skip Hollandsworth's May 2003 article in Texas Monthly titled "O Sister Where Art Thou," which recounted the story of the women, who eventually were pardoned.
Margaret Nagle, who wrote Brad Silberling's upcoming The Lost Boys of the Sudan, is adapting the screenplay. Dreamworks is currently looking for a director for the film.

Do you have any additional information regarding the Goree Girls?
My Great Aunt, Mozelle McDaniel, was one of them, and I'd like to know more about the possible movie.
Thanks in advance for your response,
Scott Jeffrey
