Jeff Bridges has found his follow-up to Tron: Legacy and True Grit with The Seventh Son, where he will play an exorcist. The news confirms a story from earlier this week, where the project was previously known as both The Spook's Apprentice and The Last Apprentice.

Offers are out to Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence to join the project. The movie is set in the 1700s and follows Thomas Ward, the role Alex Pettyfer will play if he signs on. Thomas is The Seventh Son of a seventh son who learns he has supernatural abilities such as seeing and hearing ghosts and the ability to sense the presence of death. Jeff Bridges' character will help him train and hone his newfound skills. Jennifer Lawrence is up to play a woman suspected of being a witch.
Sergey Bodrov (Mongol) will direct from a script rewritten by Chuck Leavitt. Matt Greenberg wrote the original screenplay, which is adapted from the novel series by Joseph Delaney.
No production schedule was given for The Seventh Son.
Seventh Son comes to theaters February 6th, 2015 and stars Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, Olivia Williams, Kit Harington, Ben Barnes, Antje Traue, Alicia Vikander, Djimon Hounsou. The film is directed by Sergey Bodrov.
