Jean Dujardin joins The Wolf of Wall Street
Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Jordan Belfort, who made millions as a fraudulent stockbroker out of Long Island. The story follows his meteoric rise and hard-partying lifestyle, before he was eventually caught and sentenced to 20 months in jail for securities fraud.
Jean Dujardin will play a Swiss banker who laundered money for Belfort. Jonah Hill will play Belfort's best friend, and Kyle Chandler is portraying the FBI agent who busts him.
Martin Scorsese is directing from a screenplay by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire), adapted from Belfort's autobiography. The story also served as a primary inspiration for the 2000 cult classic Boiler Room.
Production is scheduled to begin this August in New York City.
The Wolf of Wall Street is in development and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Jean Dujardin, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal, Rob Reiner, Jon Favreau. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese.
