In a story from Variety, Jay Baruchel is currently in talks to be The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

The actor will be joining Nicolas Cage in this Walt Disney Picture. Jon Turteltaub is directing this live-action film to be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

The film takes in place in modern day New York and has a wizard looking for someone to share his powers.

Lawrence Konner, Mark Rosenthal and Matt Lopez handled writing duties.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was released July 14th, 2010 and stars Jay Baruchel, Nicolas Cage, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell, Ethan Peck, Teresa Palmer, Peyton List. The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub.
