New Fast & Furious 6 rumors hint at intriguing possibilities for the franchise
Be warned, there are heavy spoilers throughout the rest of this article, so read on at your own risk.
While the franchise already boasts a massive ensemble cast, it seems they are bringing one more major action star into the fold, and he will pop up at the very end of Fast & Furious 6, possibly in an end credit sequence. Luke Evans plays the villainous Owen Shaw in Fast & Furious 6, who runs a highly-trained group of mercenaries targeted by Dwayne Johnson's Agent Hobbs. Hobbs asks for Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) and the rest of their gang for help in taking down this rogue group, and, of course, they are successful. Here's where the twist comes in.
An insider describes this scene as a chase in Tokyo, where the police are pursuing a Mazda RX-7, with a Mercedes S-Class following the chase before slamming into the RX-7. When the driver gets out of the car, it is none other than Jason Statham, who plays Ian Shaw, the older brother of Luke Evans' Owen Shaw. We then learn that the RX-7 was being driven by Sung Kang's Han. Ian then pulls out his cell phone and calls Dom, saying Dom "doesn't know him, but he's about to."
This scene also sets up the timeline in which The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift takes place, which was never previously established. This scene indicates that The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift takes place between Fast & Furious 6 and the impending Fast & Furious 7, which Jason Statham will reportedly be a major part of.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed by Universal Studios at this point, and I doubt they will either, with Fast & Furious 6 still more than three months away. Regardless, it does set up some very intriguing possibilities for the future of this high-octane franchise.
Fast & Furious 6 comes to theaters May 24th, 2013 and stars Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Luke Evans, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carano, Jordana Brewster, Gal Gadot. The film is directed by Justin Lin.

Not to worry. Rehab hasn't gotten a hold of me yet.

i dont care for spoilers to be honest, but goddamn that was a very good one lol......gotta admit...to finally tie the franchise will be impressive and obviously Statham and his roles are tedious but as a driver he is one of the best

They should just pretend that either Han's death never happened (and ignore F&F: TD like we've all been doing for the last seven years), or that he faked his death to escape someone. Han was the best thing about the sh*tty third instalment (something they clearly realised as they've put him in movie after movie since), so I see no reason to kill him off now.

If anyone is going to take over the franchise, Statham is an excellent choice.

@ChiRep-1 You are clearly thinking outside the box. Something some at MovieWeb can't seem to do.

@Bagofsoup To add to that, if the title is a matter of attracting the reader, I'd be much more enticed to click the article if it had been something like, "Cameo to introduce new franchise direction and set up Fast and Furious 7" or something along those lines. I'm sure 99% would still read it anyway but that way everyone's happy
Lawyered.

Thank you for your awesome site. I enjoy it very much, but this "Title-Spoiler" is a bit ridiculous. You may have put a spoiler warning in the article itself, but your article's title has the major spoiler in it! I was at aintitcool.com and decided not to read the story there, because they warned about a major spoiler in the title and the article. I come to MovieWeb next, and the spoiler is right on your main page in the title to the article! This should be very obvious to notice and entirely preventable in the future. You could even fix it now before anyone else has to see it. Please think about these kinds of obvious things. Thanks.

After reading title of the article, my impression was, "DO they really need to add Statham?" After reading the article, my impression was, "That actually sounds good."

@the-crow2k The franchise has a big Error, the titles of the films, they should have called Fast & Furious 6 a different way: Now is like this: The Fast and the Furious/ 2Fast 2Furious/ Fast & Furious/ Fast Five/ Fast & Furious 6/ The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious 7? That's Crazy.
