Jason Isaacs Reveals More About Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Jason Isaacs says good-bye to Harry Potter
Jason Isaacs says good-bye to Harry Potter
While Jason Isaacs was recently on the press rounds for Paul Greengrass' upcoming action thriller Green Zone, he chatted with our rock star friends over at Collider about the upcoming two-part finale that is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part I and Part II. Here is what the actor had to say:

It's very sad for me. I was already nostalgic for the history of Harry Potter while I was still making it and I knew the end was coming. It was two films. They made the last book into two films and it was a fantastic experience because everybody's back. Everyone who is left alive that is. And even some of the dead people. There is nothing greater than sitting around on a Harry Potter set when you're not filming and listening to the likes of Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Bill Nighy and Jim Broadbent tell stories. And watching everybody crew the scenery up in the few moments you get on screen - trying to out ham each other is magnificent. This big franchise goes out in an epic way. But I was always cognizant of the fact that I'd have to pack up my little furry friend of a wig and stick it in a box and say goodbye to the cane. All the joy was tinged with sadness for me.

Collider has a lot more with Isaacs, including information about the Harry Potter theme park attraction and the series' explosive climax. Be sure to read that HERE! If the studios really wanted to lengthen this series, the 5th and 6th film could have been longer or in two parts. The end battle better be better than the book version.

I agree with Stetanos......Harry should stick with 2D and not try to go all out on the graphics and stuff. As you said..it's more clearer that way.

As of the last book, yes, I was disappointed with the ending as well. Personally I think a Hogwarts series would be great.

I found out from a writers only website, the highest writing site on the net. I had to tell a fib to join it.
I joined it just two months ago at first I didn't believe it so I asked the question: Are you pulling my leg about the Potter book thing?
Their response: Why would we print it if its not true since your also a writer, would you tell the entire world that you never gave up on that universe that you've worked hard on. All authors and directors has to keep secrets from the general public, it's what we do best.

Will890: Username: Yes, you're right, I would do the same.

As of the name of the site, my lips have to be sealed. My thoughts about the website are that, half the things that they say haven't come true so far, so I had to search long and hard for it.
What I found was too very familiar names and a plot line.

    @Myluckyday: LOL
@Todd: I call BS on that, but who knows, it's like the only thing she does that makes money.

    So my overall comment:
I didn't like the ending to HP7. I don't think they needed the epilogue at all, and I don't believe that Harry should have lived in the end.
My vision for a good ending would be Harry sacrificing himself to kill Voldemort in a way I see as a similar thing to what happened in Book 4 when their wands collided, cept now there'd be like, way more spirits to fight.
It would've been more emotionally powerful if Harry were to die, permanently, not die, then come back cause he turned out to be a horocrux.

Nice to hear that "everybody" is coming back. I assume that includes characters like Dobby and Percy Weasley who have been absent for the past few films. I hope they pack as many of the characters as they can into the conclusion because they have one book's worth of material spread out over two films so they should be able to slip some of the subplots back in that they've cut out of the previous films.
