Jared Harris joins Lincoln as Ulysses S. Grant
Jared Harris will play Ulysses S. Grant, a Union general in the Civil War who later became the 18th President of the United States. Daniel Day-Lewis will portray Abraham Lincoln in this biopic, which focuses on his efforts to put an end to slavery and the Civil War.
Steven Spielberg is directing Lincoln from a screenplay by Tony Kushner, which is adapted from the Doris Kearns Goodwin book Team of Rivals. Kathleen Kennedy is producing alongside Steven Spielberg.
It isn't known when production will begin on Lincoln.
Lincoln comes to theaters November 2012 and stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg.
