Jamie Kennedy is joining the cast of the CBS drama Ghost Whisperer as a regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ghost Whisperer, returning for it's fourth season in the fall, Kennedy will play Eli, a graduate student in psychology at the local university who forms a bond with Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt).

Kennedy, repped by Paradigm, fills the void left by the upcoming departure of Jay Mohr.

Mohr, who had been a regular on Ghost Whisperer for the past two seasons as Professor Rick Payne, is expected to appear on the first couple of episodes when his character, Payne, will go on sabbatical.
