It seems director Danny Boyle has found the leading man for his film about an incredibly brave mountain climber. According to Production Weekly's Twitter feed, James Franco has signed on to star in 127 Hours.

Franco will portray mountain climber Aron Ralston, who made national news in 2003 when he was forced to amputate his own arm that was crushed under a boulder for more than five days, while climbing in Utah. After the amputation, he had to climb a 65-foot wall of rock and hiked until he was discovered by a family and later rescued by helicopter.

The film was said to start production at the beginning of March in Utah.

127 Hours was released November 5th, 2010 and stars James Franco, Kate Mara, Amber Tamblyn, Lizzy Caplan, Elizabeth Hales, Patrick Gibbs, Clémence Poésy. The film is directed by Danny Boyle.

I like Franco he has had some decent roles and proven to be a damn good actor. Danny Boyle's films never fail to deliver.

  2. The Narrator: The Better Man

Franco is an underrated actor and is rather cool. Boyle although egoed up on Slumdog (not the best) is a talented director. Awesome.
