James Franco, Frances Fisher, Tim McGraw, Jason Patric and Mehcad Brooks have all signed on to star in the mystery thriller, In the Valley of Elah for Warner Independent Pictures and Summit Entertainment.

Tommy Lee Jones, Charlize Theron, Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Tucker have already been cast for Paul Haggis, who is writing, directing and producing. The Hollywood Reporter says the film follows a war veteran (Jones) in search of his son, an exemplary soldier who recently returned from Iraq and has gone AWOL. Franco is playing a sergeant, Fisher a waitress, McGraw a police chief and Patric an Army lieutenant; Brooks is a member of the son's squad.

Shooting is currently under way in New Mexico on In the Valley of Elah.

In the Valley of Elah was released September 14th, 2007 and stars Tommy Lee Jones, Charlize Theron, Jason Patric, Susan Sarandon, James Franco, Barry Corbin, Josh Brolin, Frances Fisher. The film is directed by Paul Haggis.
