James Belushi has picked The Catch to mark his directorial debut with. According to Variety, Belushi also plans to star in the film, as well as produce it with Mike Karz.

The plot revolves around a forty-two year old man who returns to college to play football. David Murray's script is based on the true story of Marty Reichman, a man who loses his job and wife and then decides to keep a promise to his farther and return to school. He finds out that he is eligible to join the football team, and comes aboard the college team as a tight end.

Belushi has directed more than thirty episodes of his sitcom According to Jim for ABC, but this will be his first time directing a feature film. A start date has not yet been set.
