I didn't even know there was hate around Will Smith for introducing Jaden Smith to films. The entire film industry is based around connections, but then you still have to work hard. Jaden Smith was good in all the movies I've seen him in and look at the incredible work he's done in The Karate Kid. That kid worked very hard to pull off that role, he was kicking ass.
So whether he gets a break because his dad is in the industry or his friend of his college roommate, who cares? Is he a hardworking actor? Does he pull off the roles he gets? Yes. There's nothing more to add.

@the-crow2k You claim they were flops, but the facts are M. Night hasn't made a flop. Everyone of his movies has made a profit. Yes even "The Last Airbender". (Even I, a big M. Night fan, can't defend that pile) They may have been critical failures, but Hollywood isn't looking at how much you like it.
That being said his older movies are much better than his past 3. I hope this is at least in the realm as "Unbreakable" or "Signs" in terms of quality.

i wonder what the twist ending is gonna be....that thEy were not 1000 years in the future at all, just present day in some sort of contolled experiment to see how humanity would survive in the future...dun dun DUNNNN :]

Interesting suit? How far in the future are we talking about here?
As for the whole "Will Smith is dead to me" thing going around... as a guy who values family above everything else, I can see where Smith is coming from. He had a tough life, and he obviously wants his kids to enjoy the comfort of their current lives even when he's gone, and to be themselves. Therefore, he's supporting their interests, despite what it's costing him, hoping that they'll find their niche somewhere along the way. Does this count as nepotism, and do I condone it? Possibly, and not really.
Still, I feel that Smith's got his heart in the right place, but he's just going about it all wrong. He's being almost blatant about his support for his kids because he wants a future for them, and it's costing him his career. Do I approve of his career choices? Not necessarily of late. But can I see where the man is coming from? Yeah. Besides, he's not the only father pulling strings for their kids. Look at Tom Hanks and Colin Hanks, and a number of other celebrities. Same thing there, only difference is that they're more subtle about it and likely more talented. Smith's getting the heat because his fanboys miss him and hes a popular topic. I'm not one to subscribe to that stuff.
I guess I just find it wrong to judge an actors abilities onscreen for the mistakes he may make off of it. Even if he chooses crappy projects (as does Guy Pearce) he's still talented and entertaining. Am I missing something here?
As for M. Night... he f*cked up big time. No doubt. But I know in the future, should I be blessed enough to have a career out of this, I'm bound to have my lows as well. Despite my better judgement, I'll keep my mind open to the project. It's not hard, folks. If it's bad, then it's bad, and we can all enjoy bitching about it. If not, then we've enjoyed a well done film. I lose nothing out of keeping an open mind, but maintain my credibility nonetheless. I'm not great at predictions anyway, so I'll see how this turns out. I'm not above redemption for a guy whose done four solid/entertaining films, one lousy one, and two crappy ones. (I haven't seen his first two films)

I watched The Village (very underrated) again last night on Reelz... Oh, how I miss the old Shyamalan.

I don't know about this. The combo of the Smiths and Shyamalan in one movie doesn't sound too exciting to me. I'll probably need a trailer to win me over.

This movie is like a combination with everything that is annoying in this world.
I'm surprised M. Night still gets a budget for all the flops he has done over the years.
