Jackie Chan to Star in Shaolin Temple Remake

Martial arts legend Jackie Chan will be teaming up with one of Hong Kong's biggest stars for a new remake. According to Associated Press, Jackie Chan and Andy Lau will star in Shaolin, a remake of the 1982 classic The Shaolin Temple.

Nicholas Tse and Fan Bingbing will also star in the film, which was said to feature 1,000 real fighting monks. Benny Chan will direct while Cory Yuen will serve as the action coordinator.

The original 1982 film starred Jet Li in his film debut, and revolved around a boy who is taken in by Shaolin monks and seeks vengeance for the death of his father. The remake was said to go before cameras later this year for a 2010 release.

Right there are 2 results to this...

Jackie Chan has preferably now just realised his career is going to the sh*tter, so his back on doing Martial Arts movies, which is a plus...
    or
This will be Shaolin Temple remake dumbed down for kids.

But the crew and cast seems good so far, so it seems to be taken seriously, Andy Lau is top-notch and so is Nicholas Tse

So? This is good news. ALthough I hate remakes, Im still a fan of Jackie Chan. I just hope this isnt some gay little campy film (Im aware the original wasnt, but you know Hollywood!)
