Jack Nicholson may star in The Judge alongside Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. will star as an attorney, who returns home for his mother's funeral. The lawyer comes to learn that his father, the role offered to Jack Nicholson, is the prime suspect. He must defend his dad, a judge with Alzheimer's disease, in court, reconnecting with the man he walked away from years ago.
Gran Torino writer Nick Schenk penned the original screenplay draft. We reported in April that Bill Dubuque signed on to rewrite the script, with David Dobkin attached to direct. Robert Downey Jr. is producing with Susan Downey, David Dobkin, David Gambino, and Jeff Kleeman. The producers are hoping to start shooting sometime next year.
Jack Nicholson last starred in Sony's How Do You Know in 2010 and Warner Bros.' The Bucket List in 2007.
The Judge comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, Vincent D'Onofrio, Vera Farmiga. The film is directed by David Dobkin.
