J.J. Abrams will team up with Edgar Wright and Mark Protosevich for Collider
Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend) is writing the screenplay, based on an original idea conceived by Edgar Wright. J.J. Abrams will produce through his Bad Robot production company.
No story details were given, although it's possible this sci-fi project could have something to do with a particle collider. We reported last month that J.J. Abrams picked up the Oren Uziel screenplay God Particle. That story centers on a physics experiment with a particle accelerator that inexplicably causes the Earth to disappear. It isn't known if these projects are related or not.
This trio of filmmakers already have quite a lot on their plate at the moment. Mark Protosevich wrote the screenplays for Spike Lee's Oldboy remake, and the Mass Effect video game adaptation. Edgar Wright will direct The World's End before moving on to Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. J.J. Abrams is currently in post-production on Star Trek 2, set for release next May.

@mbrandon11 Yeah they started filming in January or February and were finished by May. Well I assume thats for effects and proper editing that isnt rushed. Marketing and stuff. They probably will but I think they wanted it ot of the way and sorted so if there are any mishaps they have the time to sort it out.

@mbrandon11 No, it is definately in post-production. Pre-production is when they prepare for filming etc, and post-production is when the filming is finished and editing and vfx and music take place. Star Trek 2 finished filming a few months ago so it is in post-production. ANYWAYS I like the sound of this piece of news, with J.J.Abrams on-board this could be good!
