It's Official: No Corey Haim in Lost Boys 2

Sad news for all of you Corey/Corey fans. Moviehole.net is reporting that Corey Haim is no longer involved in the upcoming direct-to-DVD sequel The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe. Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander, aka The Frog Brothers, will still be bringing their wooden stakes to the party, though. So don't fret.

Actress Moneca Delain has joined the cast of this P.J. directed follow-up, which follows a new group of vampires in Luna Bay, California. Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser) arrive in town after having lost their parents to a car accident. Following the plot of the first film, these two newcomers are quickly lured into the dark world of the vampires.

The film is currently shooting in Vancouver, Canada. Here is the complete synopsis as sent out by Warner Direct:

The sequel takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Tad Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Autumn Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals' way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gang's lifeline before his sister's transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman). Subtle references to characters from the original film, and cameos from returning actors offer homage to the Lost Boys legend and set a sinister tone of impending doom.

Lost Boys: The Tribe was released July 29th, 2008 and stars Tad Hilgenbrink, Angus Sutherland, Autumn Reeser, Gabrielle Rose, Corey Feldman, Shaun Sipos, Merwin Mondesir, Kyle Cassie. The film is directed by P.J. Pesce.

    Ohhhh Just give it up already, it's been what 15+ Years too late for a sequel, & direct-to-DVD sequel to boot!! What-ever! This is 1 film I will skip and hold onto the orginial. Whatever happend to the So-Called sequel "Lost Girls"??? Make that instead! If I was Corey Haim I would protest a a sequel!

    There is NO WAY me, my wife, or our friends will watch a Lost Boys 2 without Corey Haim. This movie has been handled awful from the beginning. With the Corey's wanting to do it they should have had a better director, Tom Savini should be doing the special f/x and not acting. I can't believe Feldman is going on without Haim...but whatever man.

    ...A little nervous about the plot... the original took place in Santa Carla, so do the Frog Bros. go around to all of the surf town, vampire riddled areas of California???

    I won't watch this movie without Haim in it. Have fun filming Feldman because after that you might have 4 or 5 people bother to go and see your work.
