Isabelle Fuhrman has landed the title role in the Joel Silver produced thriller Orphan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will be playing the adoptive daughter of Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga.

The horror film revolves around a married couple that loses their newborn baby. To compensate for the loss, they adopt an eccentric nine-year-old girl that has a very dark side to her persona.

The film began shooting last week in Toronto.

Orphan was released July 24th, 2009 and stars Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Isabelle Fuhrman, CCH Pounder, Jimmy Bennett, Margo Martindale, Karel Roden, Aryana Engineer. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
