Is Transformers the Ride Coming to a Theme Park Near You?

Our friend Robert over at IESB is reporting that Paramount Pictures is in the process of creating a Transformers amusement park ride for sometime in the near future. Which park will get the ride? What will it be? That all seems to be up in the air at this particular moment.

IESB tells us that The Transformers Adventure will be what amusement park aficionados consider a "Dark Ride". Robert stole this description of a "Dark Ride" off of Wikipedia: "A dark ride or darkride is an indoor amusement ride where riders in guided vehicles travel through specially-lit scenes that characteristically contain animation, sounds, music, and other special effects."

The ride will be constructed sometime between Transformers 2 and Transformers 3. While there is no word where this ride will eventually end up, it is said to be very much in the same vein as Disneyland's Indiana Jones Adventure ride.

IESB will have more on this as the story develops.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released June 24th, 2009 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Ramon Rodriguez, Kevin Dunn, Julie White. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

ComradeHenson: Starscream is probably having self esteem issues (he and megatron don't usually see eye to eye). Optimus will no doubt fall at the hands of Megatron/Galvatron, so having Supreme to pick up where he left off would be great. We all know megatron isn't completely dead yet... he's still got one thing left in him... i'd love to skip the whole unicron story arc and have the energy from the cube help him rebuild himself into Galvatron (yeah, like the usual earth gravity would crush his alloy body underwater... get real). Plus starscream might be away for a particular purpose... Galvatron brings back the Dinobots, Supreme assists the autobots in stopping the dinobots, Galvatron kills Optimus, Supreme battles Galvatron... there's your entire transformer story arc, as for humans, sam being a research assistant in a museum or archeological dig would fit well seeing as he has a keen interest in his great grandfathers? work. Maybe 'that chick' might help the Autobots in some way? learn more about their processes with the government and utilise the technology for a weapons platform to help them ward off a 'new' threat of some kind? It's easy as pie to put it like that... it'd be as thrillingly beautiful as the first, but give us some heavy metal battles. Michael Bay would just make us drop to the ground with Galvatron (who'd take on a earth form instead of a protoform like megatron for obvious reasons... cant repair like a normal transformer in the middle of the street can you?)... especially killing optimus prime... can you imagine the heartbreak he'd give transformer fanboys and fangirls with something like that? But in saying that would screw up my Vector prime idea, as you need another 2 movies in between to explain unicron, and planet cybertron (as well as minicons and cyber keys)...

Transformers Dark ride would be nice.
But something like Transformers should deserve something more thrilling and Rock n'roll, something mega and super fast roller coaster with twist and turns and upside down loops that will make your head spin.

I'm for this Transformers the Ride. And I hope Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia gets to have it... and all because it's closest to where I live. :)

Why would you need to replace Optimus? And where the hell was Starscream going if not unicron?

Okay, so Omega Supreme in number 2 to replace Optimus Prime? Unicron sounds like a no-no, so we're obviously going to expect dinocons? maybe Sam works in a museum as a researcher who discovers dinocons hidden near fossil remains?

Number 3... thats going to be hard to pick... i'm hoping for something based around Vector Prime?

I wouldn't personally mind seeing the ride in Melbourne... we've got film studios, we havent done alot for paramount in the past, but it'd be good to work on our ties for it :P if it was as simple and cool as some rides at the parks on the Gold Coast, i'd be happy.. scooby doo was awesome)
