Is There a Cloverfield Comic Prequel on the Way?

Tonight, Cloverfield Clues is indicating that manga publisher Kadokawa may be preparing to unleash a Cloverfield prequel in comic form.

The site writes: If you go to the Kadokawa Shoten homepage and watch the flash header, there is an advertisement for a comic called 'KISHIN'. Notice the similar style to 1-18-08? Wait...it gets better. Notice something strange in the ad for that comic? The ship has the Tagruato logo on it!!!?!?! WTF??!?!?

More news on the upcoming Cloverfield comic is expected soon.

Cloverfield was released January 18th, 2008 and stars Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T.J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Annable, Anjul Nigam, Margot Farley. The film is directed by Matt Reeves.

KISHIN is a Cloverfield prequel. I can't read Japanese but at the end of the KISHIN Flash is an ENTER> button. Clicking it takes you to a page featuring the KISHIN image from the scrollbar on the main page. Underneath is a Paramount copyright. Click the image and you go to a page that lets you view a Flash version of the comic. BTW, the URL for this page says Cloverfield right in it. Click the button that says OPEN to do so. The entire thing is in Japanese, but the last page contains credits in English, mainly JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk, the Bad Robot logo, another Paramount copyright, and an art credit for Yoshiki Togawa. No question. It's a Cloverfield prequel. I wish I could read Japanese!!!

it makes perfect sense. why would they release a comic about the monster before the movie is released after having kept it a secret for so long? people see the movie, wanna know more about the monster, buy the comic.

And, yeah, thanks kwisatz. I would've been pissed if u revealed the monster.

Would it make a difference if it wasn't? The whole point is to see the monster before someone tells you what it is.

How was the monster Kiwsatz? I know for many people this is a 50/50 chance of seeing it cause all this drama this movie has done. Is the story line good? Movie worth seeing in theaters?

What the hell does it matter? By the time it gets on the market, all the buzz for the movie will have died down. It comes out in two days for christ's sake.
