Is There a Behind-The-Scenes Power Struggle Over Wolverine?
The struggle seems to center over whether or not the film should be dark, somber and gritty (as Hood would prefer) or if the film should be a little brighter and lighter, in order to draw a wider audience, which seems to be Rothman's view.
Specifically, the latest blow-up between the two involves the rumored repainting of one of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sets, which had been repainted under Rothman's orders while Hood was away from the set for a few days.
We'll see how this rumored friction between the director and the Fox co-chairman will affect the final fate of X-Men Origins: Wolverine when the film hits theatres in May 2009.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released May 1st, 2009 and stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Will i Am, Lynn Collins, Kevin Durand, Dominic Monaghan, Taylor Kitsch. The film is directed by Gavin Hood.

oh yeah your right in what your saying Marco,... but the thing is, you don't have to take it out on Logan!!
the other orgin movies are being worked on, but the thing is to get the ball rolling they are gonna start with the character in demand, and it just so happens to be Wolverine, so in english what i'm saying is go f*ck yourself! :)

why does Fox have to try to screw up everything great. Rothman should stay behind a desk and collect checks and leave the artists the F*CK ALONE!

lol youre prolly right. look, i like wolvy dont get me wrong. but FOUR GOD DAMNED movies all focusing on his character is too much. we need expansion. we need elaborate detail on other characters. we didnt get that much form the otehrs.

its not my fault they are taking these big name heroes and turning them into mtv pop icon pieces of sh*t. hows about some good acting from either side and then their might not be something to complain about? well, i like to bithc so there prolly will be anyway. but the point im making is altho wolverine is a fantastic character, there are others that need to be explored and gone in-depth with. i know some of them arent as big as wolvy, and maybe his character is so big it bneeds to carry the burden of bringing these guys to the view of the general public, but you gotta admit that gambit and deadpool are 2 charcters that sheould be focused on all their own. they dont need a wwolverine spin-off to show them in a movie.

Obviously rothman has never read a Wolverine comic book or Novel. Dark, somber, & gritty is the way to go. Just look at how good Dark Knight did. rothman or "rat-hman" an idiot.

I think this guy doesn't know what's failure and success. Oh, let me put it for you. FF and FF2(brighter and lighter)=failure. The Dark Knight(DARK AS HELL)=f***ing success.

Its not the "co-chairman's" vision. It should be dark. X-Men was already light and bright. Kids need to see the real Wolverine.

Dark is totally the way to go with this film, wat kind of bullsh*t is that, he wants the film to be little brighter and lighter, this aint Half Baked
