In the video segment, Rosenbaum finishes it off by saying "Watch Smallville, for only a couple more months, because then I'm done."
Now, it is unclear whether or not Rosenbaum means that Smallville itself is coming to an end, or whether he merely means that he intends to leave the show when his contract expires at the end of the seventh season.

We'll keep you up to date as we know more about the future of Smallville. In the meantime, watch Rosenbaum along with the rest of the cast of the show when new episodes return to the CW network on January 31, 2008.

If Rosenbaum is in fact leaving the show, I sure hope this means that it marks the rise of the Lex Luther we know as the arch-nemesis of Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman.

I hope this is true. That show needed to end a long time ago, it still offers some good things, but several episodes are getting ridiculous.

He's letting all that steady TV work go to his bald head. He'll soon be back to making straight to dvd crapola. Smallville is good, but is creatively bankrupt at this point.

He's the best actor on the show! I dont see the show being very good without Rosenbaum.

I like the show, but if Rosenbaum doesn't come back, it won't be the same and not worth watching. Besides, I don't know what else they can do with the show. They've already pretty much introduced everyone and done everything.
