Apparently, Paramount wants to begin production on the film sometime early next year, but they will need incentives to actually shoot in the state of Ohio. The graphic novel revolves around Cleveland's notorious Kingsbury Run murders, also dubbed the Torso Murders. Matt Damon will play Ness, who was the city's safety director at the time. This all occurred between 1934 and 1938, after Ness' involvement with Al Capone.
The film does not have an official start date at this time.
Torso was released December 1st, 2009.

David Fincher is a talented filmmaker but when it comes to serial killer films, hes on a whole other level. He understands that world very well. I mean Se7en, Zodiac, those are some awesome movies. Add into the mix Matt Damon and you have a guaranteed hit. I cant wait for this, sounds awesome.

david fincher the king of serial killer flicks is a great choice and this is a great graphic novel i think that this movie is going to have plenty of gore scenes...i think that it would been interesting to see kevin costner play the part had he looked younger but damon is a great actor so i cant see them f*cking this up. cant wait to see this :)

I thought Kevin Costner played Elliott Ness in The Untouchables rather well. Matt Damon looks the part as well. This could be good.
If you've never seen The Untouchables with Costner, Robert DeNiro, Andy Garcia, and Sean Connery.... do it. Its an amazing film.

This is really good casting. Damon will be great in this role, and Fincher can do no wrong.

This sounds interesting. Last summer I visited Al Capone's Hideout in the North Woods of Wisconsin. It was one of his actual hideouts, and we got to tour the house and his garage(Which was like a security fortress in and of itself) was turned into a fine Italian restaurant. Anyhow, my point in all of this was I learned some cool stuff there, and one of the things was about Eliot Nuss, who was on Capone's case. This'll be an interesting role, and Damon could do it well, we've all seen this sort of thing from him in The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum. I wonder when The Bourne Legacy will be worked on and/or released.

But he does them so well. Maybe we don't need another Good Shepherd but he does all the other roles very well.

does damon ever get anymore roles that dont involve the police, CIA, or some sort of special tactics unit?
