I vote Logan Lerman, at least he can act and as someone said he does have that smartass thing to him but he can pull a nerd look. Whoever suggested the kid from V, NOOOO. the guy can't act.

Whoever plays Spider-Man will not get the role based on how "hot" he is.

i think that Josh Hutcherson would ROCK this role! He is a young, Hot and really great actor. He is sooo better then anyone other, and he is in a new movie that is rated r. IMDB 'the kids are all right.' he has my vote. its time for him to light up the screen with a HOT face. i wont watch the movie without him. it would suck. and guys, give him a break. he is only 17 and still a kid. he was like 13 in bridge to whatsit. my friends and parents think that he is the best actor of his generation. and i could not agree more.

Damn staight corey and emmytt! That why I's prefer that other kid waaay better than this one...heck from a strictly superficial pov, even better than Tobey, as far as looking the smart ass part goes!

But he plays a dick in every movie. He should be Mary Jane's boyfriend, who bullies Peter. Oh wait, even better! Just make a Spider-man 4. >:-(

SCREENWRITER
eh, he's a terrible actor. In CIRQUE DU FREAK he was horrible. Logan Lerman is a better choice, at least he can act. Plus he has that "Smart-ass" look whichs fits the real Peter Parker...not the Tobey one.

I wonder how someone like Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty) would do in this role? Not like they would probably consider him, but depending on the tone they're going for it could work.

I think for a younger teenage Spider-Man they are making good choices with Josh and Logan. Both look like they could play spidey. The main issue i had with the other films was they made Spider-Man a total geek nerd which is not the case. Spider-Man is self confident and a jokester he's a smartass to me Tobey never brought that to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films. He always felt like a loner, loser, socially awkward Michael Cera type. Yes Peter is kind of like that at first but becomming Spider-Man changes him in a similar way that Steve Rogers changes when he becomes Captain america

In spiderman comics, there are several lines of stories. They choose the main plot of spiderman line for the movies, even though the third was off course on the need for a spiderman story. Now they want to go in a direction of spiderman that is so off base from what is followed by most of the fan base it is rediculase. Just another case of a movie studio wanting to pump out a movie to make money with out real couse or care for what it will cost to those who are fans, or what they have made in the past. They though more action in 3 would be better, they was wrong. Now they want to reboot to a alterante spiderman story line for nothing more then to try to expand into a story line for money making. I understand that movies are ment ot make money. But I dont understand why they decided to do something that is completely motivated by the desire to make money. Spiderman is a line that could benift not only money maker wants, but a real creation for comic and movie fans wants. I do have to say though, Josh Hutcherson to me, has more what i think is what spiderman is, then the others that have been talked about thhus far...

How's that Fanboy? I guess they figure, that impressionable young minds might be checking their site out and they wouldn't want anyone to get offended. I guess the first ammendment doesn't apply to Movieweb, huh?
