Is John Krasinski Joining 'Jurassic Park IV'?

Director Colin Trevorrow addresses more rumors, saying he isn't going to muzzle the T-Rex, but did confirm the addition of a new dinosaur.

In June, plot details surfaced from Jurassic Park IV that indicate the actual theme park is up and running. Now we're hearing that The Office star John Krasinski is up for a role as one of the theme park workers in charge of 'taming' some of the dinosaurs. The role is being compared to that of Dennis Quaid's Mike Brody in Jaws 3D. At first it might sound horrible to compare Jurassic Park IV to Jaws 3D, until you realize that sequel had a pretty cool, smart concept. One that could make a pretty awesome movie if done right.

While director Colin Trevorrow has yet to comment on the potential casting of John Krasinski, he did address some of the other rumors present in that earlier story. While the theme park will be up and running, with water elements, it is said to feature tamed dinosaurs, including a "muzzled" T-Rex. Trevorrow doesn't exactly deny these plot points, but also warns fans that they shouldn't believe everything they read.

"I saw some of the rumors on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex. So I would say don't believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life."

He did confirm a report from April, that there will be a brand new dinosaur that hasn't ever been seen before.

"What is my favourite dinosaur? We have a new one that's pretty cool. I'm not going to tell you anything about it, but...It's pretty bad ass. I think Jack Horner said something about that too."

He then spoke about the importance of not only making a movie that fans of the franchise will enjoy, but also one that will win over its detractors.

"It's important to make a movie for the fans but I also have to remember that there's a lot of people who just couldn't care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there's a Jurassic Park IV in the first place and I want to make a movie for them too. This is not a paycheck gig for me and it's not the movie that I'm making so I can make the movies that I really want to make. I actually want to make a kick-ass Jurassic Park movie. When I get to sit down with guys like John Rosengrant and adjust the talon length on a dinosaur and then we're looking at variations on skin color, that never feels like work. That's when I feel like a kid."

We reported in June that Universal Pictures has set a 2015 release date for the sequel, although it isn't known when production may begin.

Jurassic World comes to theaters June 12th, 2015 and stars Ty Simpkins, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, B.D. Wong, Omar Sy. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow.
