Is John Cena taking over the Batman franchise?
Now, he is setting his sights on anther DC Comics superhero. That's right, Cena wants to play Batman in yet another reboot of the series once Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale say good-bye to the franchise with The Dark Knight Rises.
Bale has let it be known that The Dark Knight Rises will be his last turn as Bruce Wayne, which he further expounded upon in a recent Esquire Magazine interview. Here is what he said about his wanting to leave the series after The Dark Knight Rises:
"All I knew was that there was a whole lot more there that I'd never seen and there was some extreme in the interpretation that should be taken. I just gotta hope that they're gonna go with that, and if they don't, that's not the version I'd like to be involved with anyway. And it's that perverse thing in life, where when you're able to achieve a certain recklessness, you actually end up getting good results. You have to throw everything aside and say, 'What the hell, I'm gonna do it this way, and if they don't like it, I wanna do it anyway.' It avoids that anxiety of 'How do I manipulate this and fake it so that people believe me?' That's never gonna work. So that's the kind of abandonment you gotta have."
Christopher Nolan has also recently called The Dark Knight Rises the last chapter in his trilogy. But like all good franchises, just because a great team is finished with it doesn't mean that someone else won't pick up the ball and run with it. Look at the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot. It is coming less than four years since the last installment of Sam Raimi's trilogy, which many critics still call the definitive comic book movie series. Batman is a huge moneymaker, and you can bet that it won't stay gone for long.
Examiner has the news this morning that John Cena is eyeing the DC Comics property. This is all rumor at this point, and we won't have a definitive answer to the question of "Who will take over Bruce Wayne once Christian Bale is done with the role?" until after The Dark Knight Rises hits theater screens. It may sound unlikely that John Cena would take over Batman on the big screen, but the WWE Superstar, who is no stranger to weekly TV, could certainly take the lead in the rumored Batman television series that is supposedly in the works. It just might happen.
The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

Quite a number of actors don't know how to act and yet they seem to do really well for themselves. But this dude needs to stick with one thing, wrestling.

Everyone likes to think that no one will cast him, but people seem to forget how WB screwed up Burton's Batman by changing directors/entire cast. We don't always learn from our mistakes. Believe it or not, some rumors do come true.
@Worth5Bucks: In all honesty, based on your reasoning, you should be against the Superman reboot just as I should be. While it was a continuation of Donner's universe, Superman Returns was for all intents and purposes a "reboot." The Superman films were "outdated" as you say and there was an entire shift in casting and direction. That said, I'm still saddened that we won't be seeing a "Man of Steel" sequel to Returns. While I'm glad they're continuing with a new film in hopes of keeping the character alive, I still think WB should've given Singer another chance. What he did with X-Men 2 is the equivalent of what he would've done with a Superman sequel, probably better. So in that sense and for the reason listed above, for whoever said "WB is not that stupid," yes, they are.

if he wants to replace anybody he can go replace Taylor Lautner in twilight, lol not like it will matter anyways, the chicks seem to love him, might give that sum ratings.

He thinks hes hollywood material, he thinks just because the rock can get roles so can he. not like rock is any good either but hes sure as hell way better than cena. Think about it.. cena makes low budget films for wwe, and neither1 is big screen worthy. if he was a good actor he would bring his low-budget films to life. If he takes on batman, he will b the bigest joke in wwe. because the movie will score like a 7 or 13 on rotten tomatoes, lol unlike bale who scored 100%. lol

Why does he want to be Batman no dude what the hell go ruin some other freaking character I hate it when people want to take on roles they cant even pull off especially people who cant act like Beyonce wanting to be Wonder Woman thank God Meagan Fox thinks Wonder Woman is lame cause thats one less crappy actress who doesnt have to ruin a good Super Hero look at Topher Grace maybe they called him but he took the part and ruined Venom in Spider Man 3 but hey lets hope this crap doesnt happen and if Batman gets a reboot in the future lets hope the casting is as good as Christopher Nolans Batman trilogy.

I'm gonna go ahead and say we should keep John Cena as far away from any DC movies as possible. He'd just ruin it. I can't even think of a role he could do well, especially in a superhero movie.

THE JOKER HIT ME... well hit him back sir. CENA: oh..good idea then i can tell him.. THE CHUMP IS HERE.. oops champ! lolz

Actually he'd be a damn good batman for a, 'just for fun' batman project like they did with Dead End...maybe if someone want to take a shot at somekind of TDKR short, cause he's as massive as the way Miller depicted batman...heck even if anyone would be crazy enough to make a live action teaser/trailer for Batman Arkham Asylum 2 he'd be the one I'd like to see.!! But for a REAL batman movie , no way man...no way.
