Could Heroes be no more after Season Four?
It was said that NBC was looking to wrap up the series with a final 13-episode season to give it proper closure, but with its growing slate of new series pickups even before their upfront presentation, it was believed the show will be no more, due to NBC's confidence in their new pickups. However, the site is also reporting that the network is willing to give the series some closure by ordering a TV movie to wrap up the show. Here's an excerpt from the article.
However, NBC (which declined to comment for this story) is nothing if not appreciative of the few Heroes fans who still care about the saga and doesn't want to leave them hanging. While a half-season appears to be out of the question, we hear there's a good chance the network will at least try to find a way to fund a two- or four-hour movie event in order to give some finality to the franchise. Those discussions haven't taken place yet, however, since NBC still hasn't officially told Heroes creator Tim Kring his show is canceled. Networks like to hold on to as many cards as possible headed into their annual upfront announcements (NBC's is on Monday), in case some last-minute development suddenly shifts the scheduling equation.
We'll be sure to keep you posted on the fate of Tim Kring's Heroes as soon as more information comes in.

Its a Great show !!! they cant cancel it .. and i dont think they can .. there's a lot of fans ... and they need a good ending they cant end it now .. !!! we're hoping for season 5 :(

the writing in both seasons 3 and 4 was just horrible. season 4 especially. the whole claire lesbian thing was just so unnecessary to the overall story. they took all of peters powers away down to only 1 at a time which made him boring. sylar became nice (something which wasn't entirely horrible but still they should've made him into a vigilante maybe killing evil powered people). Robert Knepper couldn't save the show and I had the highest expectation for him. The only thing they did right was finally kill off Nathan, a character with an awesome power (flight) who never used it.

I am a fan of this show, but yes, it's been getting rather painful to watch. Still, I agree with @shuabert that I'd like to see something, TV movie/mini-series to wrap this up properly.

I liked season 2. I do think that it should have ended at season 4 because the people behind the show KNEW how bad the ratings were during season 4 and they should have never taken the chance of leaving a cliffhanger at the end. Now, if it does get cancelled, we all get stuck wondering what the hell was going to happen next. I prey for a 13 episode order...but then have it end after that. 5 seasons is enough considering the road the show is going down.

Well they still got a few shows I like cause before it was mostly just been fox shows until they started canceling all the good action shows, and be the way they need to do something for friday, comedy or some type of family drama, something cheap to make with a good storyline/dialog, cuz man they got nothing and making the friday feel so empty.

Not to me... I rather watch heroes then either one of those shows or turn the channel. Just my opinion, I do agree the 1st season was the best! Then after that comes the 3rd season followed very closely by season 4, they might have been tied but the 2nd season could have been so much better.

@Coheed, NBC has 30 Rock and The Office, both of which have better closure with their characters, dedicated viewers AND fans (theres a difference), and are cheaper and simpler to make. Also they're a lot more entertaining most of the time, so yeah, NBC does have better shows than Heroes.

Season 4 was surprisingly decent. There is a certain sense of closure to the end of the last season, but I would like to see something else (a mini-series or a fifth season) to really wrap things up.

I hate when tv network cancel all their good shows and have more reality tv.... It's very upsetting this is the only show NBC has that's good taking it away would be a big mistake for them! The only season that was garbage was season 2!
