Is Diablo Cody Writing Playboy?

Did you know that Hugh Hefner is on Twitter now? It seems he may have used the networking website to spill the beans on his upcoming biopic Playboy. According to a post written by the iconic entrepreneur, Diablo Cody has been meeting with both him and Brian Grazer to write the screenplay.

John Hoffman, best known for his work on the talking dog movie Good Boy!, was originally hired to pen the film. The biography will follow the early life of Hugh Hefner as well as the magazine's own colorful history. Brett Ratner is attached to direct, but there is no word on whether he is still going to climb behind the camera for this epic in the making.

The film was originally slated for release in 2009. It probably won't hit theaters until 2011.

Playboy was released in 2011.

    I think Diablo Cody is overrated and out of her element with this . I agree that Juno was good, but I just don't see whats so great about her.

    Brett Ratner is not doing this. He's doing the Frank Sinatra biopic. How about James Marsden? He'd be alright as Hugh Hefner.

    there was already a biopic of hugh Hefner and playboy with Tom Everett Scott , it was a tv movie ( done in two parts if i recall corectly) but still nicely done and informative , I have no clue how a theatrical flick would be that better then that t.v movie

    Nice this film has been in development hell for ages though, but it would be nice to see it get off the ground and yeah it has to be Rated R.
    Scrap Ratner as well....

    But who will play Hefner is a good question lol

    i reckon this needs an unknown, or low key actor, this is actually oscar and an academy award winning idea

    Perfect timing for this film. Diablo Cody is kind of in between good and bad, as a screen writer. Juno was great, I unexpectedly enjoyed that film. Jennifer's Body was a mockery to horror. With the exception of Jennifer's Body, I think Cody could pull this off. With Brian Grazer there maybe it won't be bad.

    This film is definitely rated R.
