IESB: Your name keeps popping up, I was at a premiere the other day and was talking to some industry friends and they are like, "[we] would love Common as a certain character in a certain Joe Carnahan movie."
Common: (Laughing) Yeah, that would be [something].
IESB: B.A. Baracus
Common: Yeah that would be something cool, but, I mean, let's see, I can't speak on it yet until we know what's going on but that would be an incredible character to play.

The actor, who previously worked with Carnahan on Smokin' Aces, also added that he'd like to bring something brand new to the character.
IESB: God willing that you get to do B.A. Baracus, is it a different take? Anything like Mr. T?
Common: You definetly have to give it something different.
IESB: No chains?
Common: It's a new day, you just got to give it something new. The kids don't know that B.A. so you wanna bring something new to it and you want to pay respect to B.A. and the way B.A, was created too. I believe there is a way to find a combination, I have certain similarities to Mr. T already. We are both from Chicago, we are both rebels in our own way. I could really get that, I could really get that.

i think he was agreeing with me that Mos Def and Common are both rappers/actors who r actually good at acting, at least i think that is wut he meant, i might be wrong.

Mos Def for BA? are you kidding me? Common is a better choice but still doesn't really fit the bill.

BOI meant to say rapper, but I was making a nonchalant stab at his lack of spelling not once, but both times, when he typed "raper" instead.
idk who's the bigger idiot, BOI for not noticing he spelt "rapper" as "raper" twice, happyjack for apparently thinking Common really is a rapist(and never turning caps lock off), or me for actually responding to happyjack's comment when he's probably just being an idiot on purpose...you decide.

Yes, I'm quite pleased Common isn't just some raper. Rapists are usually frowned upon

ok common isnt just some motha f'n gangsta raper this guy is a hiphop artist and hes a realy kool guy ive meet him a couple times... and he did good in street kings... and well he never said anything in wanted or american gangsta but he sure did look badass...and he also did a good job in Smokin' Aces as well. he isnt some raper who does one movie and 15mins of fame in the movies... hes got his thing going good and has great potential.

ok not to get into a thing here, but Ice cube is not the only exception, i agree with the actors who u say can't act, but i don't think Common belongs in that list. plus you have LL Cool J, Ice Tea, Ludacris (i think he is pretty decent), Mos Def, and um Marky Mark. prolly more too.
anyway i think Common would do fine. i'm just happy it isn't Tyrese. I do agree with err though, they have been talkin bout this way too long and not enough has come of that talk. do something already.

Err
i agree that common isnt bad-ass enough to be a real B.A. but i disagree with your assessment that he is a bad actor.
i haven't seen him in anything yet and thought "oh no not this f*cking *sshole again" like i do when i hear 50quid is in a movie.
he always seems to deliver.

Common as Mr. T? Mr. T is suppose to be a brute/badass, not another common (pun intended) rapper-turned actor. I'm tired of wannabe rappers trying to act and cannot( 50 Cent, MasterP, T.I., Snoop Dog, Treach, The Game, etc.) Ice Cube being the only exception.
Casting directors should looker harder than out their front door.

Err
they have been working toward this movie for entirely too long.
they should either make it or stop talking about it.
