Is Christian Bale Heading to Nottingham?

The UK's Daily Mail has reported that Christian Bale is in talks to appear as Robin Hood in Ridley Scott's revisionist take on the story entitled Nottingham. If Bale takes on the role, he will be part of a menage a trios that also includes Russell Crowe as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Sienna Miller as Maid Marian.

The report indicates that, while Bale hasn't signed on just yet, Scott is very eager to cast the actor in the role. Wardrobe fittings begin next week, so expect an announcement about Bale's involvement to come out before then. Also being considered for roles in the film are Vanessa Redgrave and William Hurt.

Nottingham is set to go into production before the end of the year. That is, if the actors' strike doesn't happen.

Robin Hood was released May 14th, 2010 and stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

    I remember watching Bale in Empire of the Sun and more recently The Prestige, he is a great actor and plays very good characters when it comes to historical fiction films so i don't doubt if he is cast in this movie that, along with Ridley Scott as director, it should be something worth watching.

    Christian Bale and Russel Crowe are my two favorite actors. I'd love to them on screen together again.

    As for Christian Bale as Robin Hood; He murdered Patrick Bateman, showed all emotion as John Preston, 'doubled' his effort for Alfred Bordon, and of course was just amazing as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

    Robin Hood: Walk in the park. So sign up Bale and give us back our money (Literally....)
