Is Aaron Johnson Cyclops?
"I work in the [REDACTED] and we heard today that Matthew Vaughn found his young Cyclops and it shouldn't be any surprise because he worked with him before. It's Aaron Johnson. This is one hundred percent locked at this point. Thought you guys should know."
For the time being, this should be considered a rumor until it is verified and deemed official. In other X-Men: First Class news, our friends over at Collider caught up with Lauren Shuler Donner, who said that the film starts shooting this August in London.
X-Men: First Class was released June 3rd, 2011 and stars James McAvoy, Laurence Belcher, Michael Fassbender, Bill Milner, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Beth Goddard. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn.

@Insert, Uncanny X-Men would be a great title for this reboot. And yes, THIS IS A REBOOT. If it wasn't, why not have Tim Poc*ck and Tahyna Tozzi reprise the roles of Scott Summers and Emma Frost? It's because the producers are distancing themselves from Wolverine: Origins as much as possible, probably with the intention of setting up a new trilogy. Hopefully, this movies and its possible sequels will be more X-Men oriented, with Wolverine as a part of the team, and not as the only character that matters.

it does seem as if this is a reboot more then a prequel...i just wouldve wished more theyd left it alone so marvel studios could get the rights back and do the series themselves, but fox is holding on to the rights tighter then theyre holding their own...well, u know :D
and i agree, change the title and as long as Johnson doesnt use the same voice from Kick Ass im good lol

@Diagma: True. They're calling it a "prequel" but I doubt very much that it will actually stick to the continuity set up by the X-films. I feel like they're pretending it's a prequel because they don't want to cancel what the Wolverine movie TRIED to accomplish with telling an origin story set before the X-films. If they call it a reboot, that means that any future Origin flicks they had planned will have to be scrapped...and they don't want that because that's more money in the bank, if they ever even get made. Not rebooting leaves the door open if they ever do revisit the Origin flicks, but I'd just like to see a reboot titled "The Uncanny X-Men." It seems to be heading in a good direction.

I'm sure he'll make an excellent Cyclops. My interest in this film, which admittedly was originally close to nothing, has certainly risen in the past few weeks.
