War Machine gets a writer
On Thursday, it was announced that Marvel had hired Mark Bailey to write Black Panther. Now, Iron Man 2 star Don Cheadle has come forward to say that a writer has been hired to write the spin-off War Machine.
Here is what he had to say:
"They're developing it now; they're working on that. I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun."
Cheadle then revealed that he will not be appearing in The Avengers as War Machine:
"I don't think he shows up. I think he's kind of a lone wolf."
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.
Black Panther is in development .
Iron Man 2 was released May 7th, 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Jon Favreau.

Whatever...same thing was planned for Silver Surfer and we're nowhere near seeing a standalone movie for him. (oh wait...IM2 isnt quite the failfest FF 2 :ROTSS was.....was it?)

good, but yeh an avengers movie cameo would be good. I still cant believe that marvel is only puttingin 150 million for the avengers, a film that they cant afford to fail, and which is probably going to be their biggest movie ever, I would have thought like 250 - I mean GI Joe had 150, and I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want it to be 'good' I want it to be EPIC. anyway, yeh it makes sense for a war machine movie, Don Cheadle was a good replacement for that other guy, the oher guy had no style about him.

Don't get me wrong I like my comics book movies but man marvel is pushing it with these movies. They are coming out with too many. Nothing wrong with making money but I would love if they just came out with either one or two movies a year, thats it. They are really pushing it like, in the 90's when they almost killed the comic industry with all those variant covers people had to get lol

too many spinoffs. i'd rather they scrapped this idea and wrote a great script for IRON MAN 3. you could include war machine in IM3 but dont give him his own movie. it'll be viewed by many as just an iron man ripoff.
