Iron Man 3 to Be Co-Written by Shane Black

Shane Black to co-write Iron Man 3
In late March, Marvel Studios anounced that Drew Pearce was coming on to write Iron Man 3, with new director Shane Black closely overseeing this first draft. Sources today claim that Black will actually be co-writing the screenplay with Pearce.

Shane Black made his directorial debut with 2005's Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, but is best known for his screenplay work throughout the 80s, having created the films Lethal Weapon, The Monster Squad, and The Last Boy Scout. The majority of Iron Man 3's storyline is being created by Shane Black, with intent for it to be a mystery thriller with real life villains.

It is believed that Drew Pearce was brought in to curb Shane Black's notoriously R rated writing style, as Walt Disney Pictures wants to keep the film family friendly. Others claim that is false.

Iron Man 3 was released May 3rd, 2013 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale. The film is directed by Shane Black.

They show alil movie scene, Where that1 guy Agent Coulson or whatever, drives out to the desert, and sees the 'thor" hammer on a log or sumthing, then he says into a walkie talkie "i found him" I bet nobody saw that, lol Anyways go see it. if u didnt..., I was wondering Part3 could take place w thor in it.. not as a bad guy but as another super hero who maybe helps or saves iron man. or sumthing.

    @jptheredskull despite that, it would be good to have a much more agile Robocop. And they better make it R

    @bane5000 Yeah. I'm worried about the RoboCop reboot as well. Not so much when they had Darren Aronofsky at the helm but still worried. I feel like there only rebooting to coast off the sucess of Iron Man. Some early concept work I saw, from when Aronofsky was still on the project, had Murphy's robotic body looking like a modified version of the Mark III armor from Iron Man. This just does not bode well for me.

    @jptheredskull...Most definately Robocop is one of the best movies ever, awesome 80's flick and great Sci-Fi movie, thats why im kind of against the reboot, cuz the first was perfect and made sense at the time as to take a futuristic look at combining man with machine, part 2 to me was ok, just delved the story into the rampant poverty and drug epidemic that was really happening in the world at that time, but part 3, good go what were they thinking, and they killed Lewis, none of part 3 made any common sense at all

    @bawnian-dexeus Robocop is one of the greatest films ever. Though it's sequels sucked. The second made no sense and the third was just bad (also, THEY KILLED OFF LEWIS! WTF)

    Stark is always making jokes, but as long as it has a more serious tone, no worries.

    Shane Black is a great dialogue writer for the screen. The Last Boy Scout, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, and Lethal Weapon all contain a great balance of wit and action. Ultimately I look forward to seeing what Black has to offer to the Iron Man film series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    I honestly think Black can make it work. In a way I find it unfair for people to ask an artist to mimic another artist's style etc. I think we should let Black do the movie he sees fit and if is as good as I think he is it will come out fine.

    @Salem6777

    I don't it will, look at The Long Kiss Goodnight, has lots of humor but still action packed and dark. Not saying that IM should be dark but I know Black can find the balance.
